The genotype results for each genetic variant tested is outlined in YOUR GENETIC PROFILE. All of the genes that go into making up the genetic composition graphs at the start of the report are listed here, along with their corresponding results. While it is not necessary to reference the individual gene results, it is helpful to work with this information over time in order to dive more deeply into complex situations to look at specific genes that may provide insight to the client.
Here you can determine which genes caused each test to be either red, green or a mix of both. For example, you will notice under Carbohydrates that several genes are tested. Here you can see each gene and the associated result. All results are categorized as good, moderate or poor. Good – Indicates that you have inherited two normal functioning copies of that gene. Moderate – Indicates you have inherited one normal or good copy and one variant or mutated copy. And poor – Indicates that you have inherited two variant or poor copies. This area can provide greater detail for clarification if you are trying to understand a particular test at a deeper level.
When you have one normal (good) copy and one variant copy (poor). Your functional, normal gene will often try to compensate. Over time you may notice the effect lessens as your system gets bogged down.
In Your Genetic Profile the results for each individual SNP are categorized as good, moderate or poor:
Good: Functional gene with 2 normal copies.
Moderate: One normal copy and one variant copy.
Poor: Is two variant copies.
